Not sure what this is called,It is a tree.
This is at the side of the road by the yurt, growing out of the lava
Hiked Manuka State park
I felt like more hiking today.Hawaii is going through another pretty bad drought.Trees and shrubs are barren and dying.
I remember this occurance a few years back when we were visiting. I pray God helps the land here and brings some rain.
I took a hike at Manuka State Park. The excersise felt good. The clarity to my mind was the best.
I LOVE this Island. I respect it.

Great morning for a walk and decision making
I set out this morning on a mile walk up and down the hills looking at the southern most tip of the U.S called south
Point. I snooped around the home I saw yesterday and found out it is a cluster. A main house 4 bedroom, a Ohana smaller home, which is the one I would want on it's own.And another 2 room cottage. A perfect set up for a permanent home and rentals. Not to be. I am finding my peace and happiness this time with my visit to Hawaii.I am not finding the right feel of a place to buy.Which I have to accept that it probably won't happen.Kurt is very settled in Oregon and can not feel what I have in my heart. He gave me the go ahead to do what I needed to do,but unless he feels what I do,It will not happen. And I am hoping that is going to be ok for me. I have a great marriage and a beautiful home and lifestyle in Oregon,no beach or daily warmth,no turtles or dolphins. No fresh Mahi Mahi 20 minutes out of the water..but I know where to come to find all this. And this is always what we can come visit to..for now anyway. :)

Go with the car,A day of Dolphins
I woke up today and was not sure where I was headed.I spoke with the couple who live here and rent the yurts. They told me about a house around the corner that just was listed.I took a peek and it is really cute.I left a message with my realtor to get back to me.Still waiting.
I got in the car and headed North.
My first stop was a place that is private in a sub division.Black pebble sand.I only saw 6 people while I was there.Casey who I met yesterday told me about it.
Then I felt like another new beach. Ho'okena.I was looking out over the bay and there they were. The Dolphins.I set off about 80 yards or so off shore.I counted 24 all in a row swimming. Another day I will never forget.
No people.so relaxing..

Feeling Really Good!
I woke up this morning and felt so amazing.I do not ever recommend going on a discovery trip with the flu. I wanted to fly home so bad last night to my boys. I slept 12 hours and woke up to a new beginning.
I visited with the local hair stylist, another realtor and made a wonderful connection with Casey and her son Nauki, who I met at Maloli'i beach.A place that was populated with friendly locals enjoying a baby shower and fishing.
Nauki who is about 1 1/2 years old came and grabbed my hand. He was showing me his dad who was surfing. His Mom Casey was apologetic to him being so friendly. I of course loved it.She assumed I was a local, which i feel I am at this point. Her and her husband are looking to buy a home around here.
I spent the day at the beach and did nothing but watch the ocean and a teenager try to spearfish dinner with no success.
I went up to the home I am looking at to buy. It has a amazing view of South Point.
MahiMahi I cooked for my dinner.

The house that could be it.,to be a part of our Hawaii...
Loving the yurt,I am so relaxed.

Looked at a house
This morning I met with my realtor and looked at a house.
It was adorable.Something I could see myself and Kurt really enjoying for a while. It is amazing when you are sitting alone immersed in your feelings how certain things come up. For me the big issue is the distance this home is from Kona town.A little over an hour. What if Kurt or I develop a health issue and have to seek medical help? The community is nice. It feels safe and the people I have been meeting are just like us. The more I think about it ,the more I am leaning towards renting for a month or two and not have the worries of a second home. How long have I wanted to live here on the Big Island..well since I first stepped foot on it over 20 years ago. We made a choice to move to Oregon to be close to my family. I don't want any more added stress our lives.
I miss Kurt and Wallie.
And today I took a drive south to Whittington Beach and Punalu'u Black sand beach. It was a nice day.
Honu at Punalu'u Black sand beach, and a self shot to prove I am here!! LOL!
A yummy treat from Punalu'u Bakery.

I Love this YURT! And Zebra!
Wow,I have to say I was a bit nervous to stay in a yurt on Hawaii. Why? because I have only stayed at resorts, timeshares and Hiltons. But the Oregon girl is me.. As I was driving south on 11 I was feeling a bit uneasy, the climate changed to dry lava desert. I have driven past here many times before, wondering as I looked up the hill, who would ever live up here?
I knew I wanted to experience this.
I made a stop at my avacado tree to get a weeks worth of guac before heading south. I stopped at the farmers, craft market in Captain Cook and bought a few gifts.
I was driving ,praying to God to give me a direction on what I needed to learn on this journey. Then it was revealed..A Donkey,a Zebra?? ,for real????
I have no cell service up here, but great Internet!
The yurt is so comfy and cozy,,I really feel good.
I am only 20 miles away from one of my favorite places called Punalu'u! Black sand beach .
It has been a wonderful day..
Yes,A ZEBRA!!
Driving South Today
I will miss Captain Cook town.I now am going into rougher terrain, less people, which I am looking forward to. I ran into Kona town yesterday and found my self dizzy with all the tourist and traffic.I went to the farmers market and enjoyed looking at all the beautiful produce and flowers.I waved at my friend Dana back in Creswell,I was standing in front of the Fish Hopper restaurant, they have a web cam.
This property is beautiful and I will really miss Peaberry, the dog who looks alot like our Wallie.
The Avacado,banana and grapfruit story
I wanted guacamole.I buy one avacado for $2 at a road side stand. Now I know good and well there are Avacado trees all over this island. The one I gathered from before with my girlfriend Kelly had a big spray painted sign, NO PICKING AVACADOS. Ok.I don't feel like running from the dogs today.
I decide one is good for now.As I am driving back to my bungalow, which is in a burb, you can say,,I see a avacado in the middle of the road.Low and behold I look over and there is a tree, loaded with them.
I gathered up as many as I could wrangle in my dress and was so happy! Yesterday I was driving back and there it was another avacado in the road.Yep,I stopped and picked it up.
Also where I am staying there are grapfruits and bananas.I do say I love having them in the garden.
Enough Aready, get on with the snorkeling PICS!
And what a great time in the water I have had. I get up, drink my coffee and stare at the ocean. I grab my Emergencee water and head to Honou'nou bay.I leave by 8:30 am to try to get there before the crowd. It is about a 20 minute drive from where I am staying.
